About Boston Roybal Center for Active Lifestyle Interventions (RALI)
Location:

Mission Statement
The overall goal of the Boston Roybal Center for Active Lifestyle Interventions (RALI) is to develop and test innovative behavior change methods to promote healthy aging, especially for adults at high risk for poor health outcomes.
Description
We will develop and pilot strategies to increase and sustain active engagement in vulnerable populations of middle-aged and older adults using personalized and multicomponent approaches. The conceptual model that guides the work of the Center is shown here. It is widely known that physical activity is highly beneficial for physical, psychological, and cognitive aspects of health. However, the number of adults who are regularly active is shockingly low.
We will use the Center resources to develop novel, evidence-based programs to motivate and support an active and engaged lifestyle, broadly defined to include physical, social, work, and cognitive activities. The Center conducts interdisciplinary research drawing on resources and expertise across five Boston-area institutions: Brandeis University, Northeastern University, Boston College, Boston University, and Harvard Medical School.
We have developed partnerships with community organizations serving vulnerable middle-aged and older adults to inform and benefit from the research and activities of the Center.
