What is Gothic Hills Cemetery?
Gothic Hills Cemetery is a little free family charity haunted house. It all started in 2011 as a small halloween displayin our front yard. Over the next few years, our trick-or-treater numbers grew and in 2014 we started the story of "The Fitzroy Crypt". By 2016 we welcomed over 600 guests! We are in need of volunteers RIGHT NOW (See below) and at Halloween, to help build and operate the haunted house. We need volunteers of all kinds and skill levels... extra hands, technical people, crafters, actors, and more!
Gothic Hills Foundation is our 501(c)3 Non Profit charity. Through this event, we collect and distribute supplies for the AIDS Project LA/Necessities of Life Program and Best Friends Animal Society. The production of our event also provides mentorship for area youth who are interested in learning creative production skills. It is our goal to collect more than 250 lbs of supplies this year!

But, Halloween Already?
You're probably thinking "Halloween in the Spring? Isn't it early to think about Halloween?"
Sure, for most people, but our haunted house gets built during the whole summer. We need help with that, as well as running it.
Plus, this summer we are very proud to have been invited to showcase our haunted house at the Worlds Largest Halloween Convention - Midsummer Scream at the Long Beach Convention Center! This happens in August, so this means we are currently building our haunted house... RIGHT NOW. We are super-Halloweeners so its great fun for us! Come join us!

What would be expected of me?
There's no minimum commitment of time, and we accept all skill levels! If you can hold a paint brush, we can use your help! We're happy to teach you anything you need to know.
Tasks that you might encounter include painting scenery, crafting, sculpting foam, carpentry and scenic construction, prop-making, setup and breakdown, crowd control, technical design and operation, creating special effects, acting as a character, and more.
We have roughly 2-3 build days per week from now through July. Mostly Wednesday nights, Friday Nights and Saturday or Sunday all day. We will be creating some amazing scenery!
When we schedule a build day for more than 6 hours, (such as Saturday or Sunday) we will feed volunteers!
