Twice a month, we hold a high-profile evening event (lecture, presentation, performance) for 250-300 people. We transform our library's main reading room into a presentation space with 250 folding chairs and a sound system, and we could use help!
The position requires being able to lift and carry up to 50lbs, and to stand, sit, crouch, walk, and bend. You’ll be partnered up with an experienced hand and in exchange, you’ll get a front row seat to some of our popular events. We’d love for you to join our crew!
Time commitment: 1-2 hours (depending on if you want to stay for the event), typically from 5:30-7pm on Fridays or the occaisonal Wednesday.

Mission Statement
The Public Library is dedicated to free and equal access to information, knowledge, independent lifelong learning, cultural enrichment, and the joys of reading for our diverse community.
Description
Nestled in the redwoods, the Mill Valley Public Library is a beautiful public space in which to read, study, work, or dream. Our three-story library houses an impressive collection of non-fiction and fiction books, DVDs, audiobooks on CD, music CDs, large print books, and more. We offer public internet PCs, 3 iMacs installed with graphic design and sound-editing software, downloadable e-books and e-audiobooks, and a bevy of online databases. We're expanding our services to include more adult and young adult programming and continuing with our extensive children's programs as we continue to look for ways to improve our community's free and equal access to information in the 21st century.
