Looking to volunteer in your community?
ECHO (El Camino Homeless Organization) provides shelter for some of the homeless men, women, and children in SLO County 365 nights a year. Please consider helping ECHO this winter as we continue to provide services to those in our county who need it the most!
ECHO is currently in need of more Orientor Volunteers on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Orientor Volunteer helps train the two-three Overnight Chaperon Volunteers who spend the night and monitor the shelter. The Orientor gives a tour of the shelter to the volunteers and goes over their duties and the rules for the night. The Orientor will also help check in the clients staying at the shelter that night and help set up any new individuals or families entering the shelter. This position is best for outgoing people who enjoy socializing with other volunteers and clients. The Orientor Volunteer position is a great chance to interact with the clients staying at the shelter and learn what daily life at a shelter is like.
The Orientor shift is 5:30pm - 6:30pm.
Training Description: Volunteers will have orientation and training before assuming this role.
Volunteer Requirements: Must enjoy working with others in a supportive role.

Description
The El Camino Homeless Organization (ECHO) provides meals, shelter, and supportive services to the homeless and hungry of northern San Luis Obispo County. Operating 365 days a year, ECHO is volunteer based organization that is supported by a coalition of churches, service organizations, and individuals. Our family atmosphere and selfless dedication of volunteers has been a refuge for many in their times of need.
