The board of the Waltham Philharmonic Orchestra sets the policies, manages the Music Director and other staff, oversees the budget, raises the funds to meet the budget, and makes sure the organization is in compliance with all laws pertaining to nonprofits in Massachusetts.
The board meets 4 times each year - usually on Sunday evenings. Each board member is also expected to serve on at least one committee. Board members are ambassadors for the Orchestra in the greater Metrowest area, promoting the concerts and soliciting donations.
