Our facilities support volunteers offer their experience in basic maintenance tasks to assist upkeep of our residential homes at Boys Hope Girls Hope. You can be the one to create a welcoming home for children who need a structured and well-maintained environment to achieve academically. Our facilities support volunteers often provide skill mentoring in house maintenance for both staff and scholars to continue the learning even after volunteer hours are over!

Boys Hope Girls Hope helps academically capable and motivated children-in-need to meet their full potential and become men and women for others by providing value-centered, family-like homes, opportunities and education through college.
BHGH is exponentially changing Cincinnati by providing high-potential kids with an exceptional education. We are raising a select group of disadvantaged young leaders in a nurturing home environment and offering a productive future that will resonate into the next generation. We address the causes of poverty, not merely the symptoms.
Facilities Support Responsibilities
Volunteers will assist and carry out the repair and maintenance requirements of residential homes at Boys Hope Girls Hope. Hours are flexible to the availability of the volunteer. Here’s a complete list of volunteer responsibilities for this opportunity:
- Previous experience with basic maintenance tasks desired
- Knowledge in carpentry, painting, landscaping, plumbing, etc.
- Perform basic repairs to the shelter such as plumbing, electrical fixtures, broken
- appliances/equipment and other minor repairs
- Provide maintenance to interior and exterior of the shelter including painting,
- carpentry, grounds clean-up, and new equipment/furniture installation.
- Other tasks as determined by volunteer and shelter staff
Qualifications to volunteer
- Must be over the age of 18
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Good problem-solver and detailed-oriented
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Must be flexible and have reliable transportation

Description
Boys Hope Girls Hope (BHGH) is a national non-profit organization, founded in 1977. This organization houses children in need to provide a safe environment, education, support services, and participation in extracurricular activities and community service.
Services are continued after high school graduation, including job placement and financial assistance through college.
Cincinnati also has a Community-Based Program, where scholars live with parents, but receive BHGH benefits.
