Volunteers Needed:

On Sunday, May 5, ALIVE! will hold its 38 th annual StepALIVE! Walkathon to benefit its Child Development Center (CDC). Since 1972, the CDC has provided high quality, full-day, year round early care and education to children of Alexandria’s low income working families. Proceeds from StepALIVE! are used to provide tuition assistance to CDC students, helping to bridge the gap between what CDC families can afford to pay and what it costs ALIVE! to care for and educate their children. The Walkathon is a 5 mile or 5k fun stroll into Old Town from ALIVE! offices at 2723 King Street and back, followed by a celebration featuring catered food, live music, and a raffle.

Volunteers are needed to register participants, distribute T-shirts, prepare for and serve food at the post-walk celebration, and clean up. Set up will start around 12:45 pm and clean-up will end about 5:45 pm. Volunteers can work shorter shifts if necessary. For more information, please contact Mary Eileen Dixon at cmedixon8@msn.com or 571-970-0369.
