Volunteer as a Senior Peer Counselor!

The Aging Clinic of the Rockies at Colorado State University is seeking older adult volunteers to serve as peer counselors to older adults who want help navigating life stressors. Peer counselors are trained in basic counseling skills and are paired with seniors in the community who are navigating later life stressors such as life stage changes, housing changes, reduced physical or cognitive ability, and grief. Peer counselors meet with clients for 8 - 12 weeks, 1 hour a week, and also attend weekly peer counselor clinical supervision with a trained therapist. Description

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Volunteers of America provides volunteer opportunities for individuals 55 years and older to use their skills, insight and lifetime experiences to assist residents and non-profit agencies in the county. RSVP also offers a variety of programs which provide services and enhance the quality of life for seniors.
