Seize the opportunity to make a difference in someone's life! There is no greater joy than knowing you helped someone live the end of their life with joy! Be part of the team that achieves this. We have opportunities in both Cumming and Gainesville areas. Hours are totally flexible - any day Monday through Sunday. 8 am through 6 pm. An average visit is 1 hour. The timing depends on what the volunteer can give and what the family needs. Some volunteers simply chat with their patient. Some volunteers read or sing songs or hymns with their patient. We are honored to be part of the WE HONOR VETERANS program.
Local families. All training is provided. Please contact me with questions. I promise your time will be well spent!
Remember: The Last good thing in a person's life may be a hospice volunteer.

It is our mission to meet our patients needs physically,socially and spiritually. In order to do that we employee a staff of nurses, home health aids,social workers ,chaplains, Volunteer coordinator, Medical Director and volunteers. Our staff is dedicated to our patients and their families.
Description
You will feel very rewarded in your new role as a Halcyon hospice volunteer. As a hospice volunteer you will help patients and their caregivers in many different areas of their lives. You can provide caregiver relief for 2-4 hours each week to allow the caregiver to enjoy time out of the home. You may also provide companionship to a patient who is in their last Journeys of life. You may also help out as a office administarative volunteer. Some other ways you may volunteer are baking birthday cakes, knitting blankets, running errands, delivering supplies, making weekend tuck in calls, Pet therapy ,if you have a hospice certified animal and Music therapy if you have musical talents. We care for terminal patients in thier home or home like settings. Our office is located in the cumming area. We have patients in several surrounding counties.
