The Texas Parent to Parent Statewide Parent Conference for families who have children and young adults with disabilities needs help in the child care rooms and the Teen conference. Children with varying disabilities, chronic illness and other special healthcare needs will need buddies to play with while their parents attend the conference. Teens and young adults also needed in the Teen Conference to be peer mentors and engage in fun activities with young people with disabilities as well! Service Hour Recognition forms will be provided! This is a great opportunity for Older Teens, Young adults, college students, medical students or church members who might enjoy hands on play and activities with our wonderful children and their siblings!

Mission Statement
Texas Parent to Parent (TxP2P) supports children with disabilities, chronic illness, and other special health care needs by empowering their families to be advocates for them through peer support, resource referral, and public awareness.
Description
Texas Parent to Parent (TxP2P) provides support and information to families through staff who are also parents of children with disabilities or chronic illness and/or through one-on-one matches with trained Supporting Parent Volunteers. We provide information on resources and programs, funding sources and insurance and anything that will help support a family remaining intact with their child at home with them.
TxP2P provides trainings for professionals and parents across the state through our federally funded Family to Family Health Care Education and Information Center. We provide a Medical Education Program for Pediatric and Family Practice Residents using Family Faculty to help them understand the global impact of a child with a disability on a family. We are working on Respite and Transition Programs.
TxP2P also provides an annual parent conference and a quarterly newsletter.
