Haven Hospice Healing Hearts Program focuses on providing grief support to individuals and their families who are coping with a loss/death, or anticipated loss. This has become an even greater community need as people continue struggling to cope amid the societal losses associated with COVID-19 pandemic and the daily life changes that often leave grievers more isolated. We are currently looking for Bereavement volunteers who are interested in providing telephone support calls, and counseling referrals, for those dealing with the loss of a loved one. (Administrative support for computer data entry is also needed in this role.) A 1 hour remote training will be required. This role allows for schedule flexibility and is ideal for someone who is self-driven, tech-savvy (has own computer), and is passionate about helping others.

After training, a one-year volunteer commitment is required. Those who have experienced the recent death of a loved one are recommended to wait at least one year before volunteering with patients and families. This remote opportunity has locations in the Gainesville, Lake City, Chiefland, Jacksonville, Orange Park and Palatka areas of Florida. Ages 18 and up are welcome to volunteer.
