RISE Mentoring for Children of Incarcerated Parent

Rhode Islanders Sponsoring Education (RISE) is a non-profit organization that provides scholarships and mentoring services to children of incarcerated parents -- great kids who can use another positive adult in their lives.

RISE seeks volunteers to work 1:1 with children ages 7-15 enrolled in our program. Mentors spend up to 4-6 hours each month engaged in community-based activities with their mentee.

A comprehensive initial training session is provided. One-year of volunteer service with RISE is asked of all mentors.

Mentoring with RISE is a fantastic way to cultivate a child's existing interests while introducing and exposing them to new people and places.

RISE Mentors describe their volunteer experience as fun, unique, and very rewarding.
