Volunteers will help clean north and south beaches at Canarsie Pier.
Gloves, bags and refreshments will be provided.
Volunteers are encouraged to wear weather appropriate clothing and sturdy, close toed shoes.
Stay after the event for free kayaking sponsored by the National Park Service.

Description
Incumbent(s) will work mainly in the preparation, mounting, and processing of plant specimens to be stored in our herbarium (plant museum) as vouchers of the plant resources present in the park, and for use by persons who wish to study the park's flora.
A detailed description of the work will be sent to candidates who request it. Logistical issues prevent its attachment to this document.
Desirable traits include patience, meticulousnes, good concentration, and the ability to work alone and idependently. Volunteers selected will be taught the necessary skills. Computer literacy, particularly in the use of spreadsheets and databases (i.e. Microsoft Excel etc.), would be a plus, but is not required.
