Free Food, Drinks, and Live Music

ORGANIZATION: Hospice of Michigan

We are seeking lots of volunteer help for Hospice of Michigan's Barley, BBQ, & Beats fundraiser. This event is a unique celebration showcasing barbecue from leading pit masters, hand-crafted cocktails from select Michigan distilleries, and live music from hometown favorites. Money raised from this event goes towards the organization's Open Access Program, so that no patient is turned away due to inability to pay for care.

Volunteers at this event will have the opportunity to sample local BBQ and whiskey favorites, while listening to live music. Volunteers must be age 21 or over to volunteer.

Volunteers will be asked to assist with duties such as greeting, registration, ticket sales, handing out T-shirts and tokens, refilling food and drink stations with supplies, helping at our memorial wall, and more. This event will keep volunteers up on their feet, and casual attire with comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Each volunteer will receive a T-shirt, as well as free food and drink tokens, and will be given a scheduled break during the event. Please respond with your T-shirt size (unisex t-shirts), and any questions.

For more information on the event, please visit https://www.hom.org/bbb2019/. Thank you in advance for your consideration!

Description

What sets us apart

Our staff - Our dedicated doctors, nurses, social workers, counselors and hospice aides form a "cocoon of care" around our patients and families, providing comfort, support and dignity.

Our expertise - Because we are one of the largest hospices in the nation, we have specialists in many areas, including pediatric hospice, pain management, research and care for people with advanced dementia and other illnesses.

Our experience - We have been serving our communities for more than 30 years. Among our 600 employees, we have more board-certified hospice physicians and nurses than other hospices.

Our locations - We have offices and worksites throughout the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Wherever you are, we have a team of hospice specialists who can help you.

Our commitment - We care for all who need and seek our care, regardless of their age, diagnosis or ability to pay. We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for our patients and families and for admissions.

Our size - We serve nearly 800 patients and their families every day; nearly one in four hospice patients in Michigan.
