ORGANIZATION: St Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen

The Elizabeth Ann Seton Food Pantry and Sandwich Window began in 1980, handing out coffee and sandwiches to patrons on our front porch. Today, our sandwich kitchen is open 6 days a week, serving an average of 125 meals a day, in addition to hundreds of special holiday meals and thousands of cups of coffee per year. We also provide hygiene kits, socks, gloves, hats and winter clothing to our guests. Volunteers include parishioners, DePaul students, faculty and staff, and others from the neighborhood.

Volunteers arrive between 7:45 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on the day they are scheduled to volunteer and then serve meals until 10:00 a.m. Volunteers help by preparing and serving meals and conclude their shift by 10:15 a.m. after food service is ended. In addition, a group of volunteers prepares sandwiches on Saturday mornings from 8:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Our volunteers schedule themselves using an online scheduling system. You will need to create an account to be able to sign up. A link to do this is provided below.

Once you submit the form, you’ll receive another email with your log-in. Go ahead, log on and look at the schedule to sign up. Feel free to sign up for whenever you are available.
