Thunder City Derby Sirens are a 501c3 charitable organization based out of DeLand and we have members from Seminole, Orange and Volusia Counties. Much of our success has come from the dedication of committed volunteers who have donated their time to help us. We are seeking individuals who are interested in volunteering with our organization to assist with multiple roles.

Committee Members: Have experience with web design, social media creation, event promotion, video editing or photography? We'd love to utilize your talents and help build your portfolio and resume!

Game-day Operations: Assisting us with getting our venue ready for the game. Duties may include things such as helping to load/unload our supplies, assisting with track set up & breakdown, sound booth set up & breakdown, etc.

Non-skating Officials (NSOs): NSOs have been called the unsung heroes of roller derby. They do all the jobs that allow the bout to take place and play a vital role in the game such as keeping track of the score, time and penalties. There are usually between 12 and 15 NSOs at any derby game. We’ll teach you everything you need to know if you are interested in helping out!

Licensed Medical Volunteers: bumps, bruises & breaks unfortunately happen in roller derby, but thats where our awesome medical volunteers come in! if you have any of the following certifications, and are willing to help us out, please message us for more details, or to get on the door list for our next home game! Medical licensure and certification might include: * Certified First Responders (CFRs), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), or Paramedics * Physician with sports medicine, orthopedic, and/or emergency medical experience * Athletic trainer with CPR training * Licensed Practical or Registered Nurse with current CPR training and sports medicine, orthopedic, and/or emergency experience * Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant with current CPR and sports medicine, orthopedic, and/or emergency experience

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Community- & goal-oriented with a sense of commitment to our cause
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of people
  • The capacity to inspire and motivate others
  • Good organizational skills

Because we are asking for your help, obviously we're flexible, we'll work with your schedule. To emphasize, this is a volunteer role, we are a completely skater run organization, with no paid employees.
