Guitars For Vets (G4V) is seeking a Chapter Coordinator for the Bismarck, ND chapter. This position is non-compensated. The Chapter Coordinator works with local volunteer guitar instructors to provide free guitar lessons and an acoustic guitar to Veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and/or physical injuries. Training and mentoring is provided for this position.
Required skills : proficiency with Microsoft Office products and computer software in general, willing and able to pass a background check, willing to become a VA volunteer, willing to commit to following G4V policies and processes, willing to communicate regularly with G4V national management team.
Additional skills : experience playing, supervisory skills, fundraising, networking, community outreach and public speaking.
*Guitars for Vets is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2007 and based in Milwaukee, WI. G4V provides 10 free guitar lessons and a new acoustic guitar to Veterans with PTSD, physical injuries and emotional distress in a structured program run by volunteers and in partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Currently, there are more than 100 G4V chapters around the country serving Veterans in more than 40 states.

(G4V) is a federally registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that enhances the lives of ailing and injured military veterans by providing them with guitars and music instruction. Through self-expression and the healing power of music, it is our intent to restore the feelings of joy and purpose that can be lost after suffering trauma.
Description
Guitars For Vets is a volunteer staffed organization with over 120 chapters in cities across the United States. Each chapter works with local VA care providers who identify and refer interested veterans who can benefit from the healing power of music. Many of our students suffer from PTSD or other traumatic injuries. Veterans enroll to receive ten free, individualized guitar instructions from volunteer guitar instructors in the community and a loaner instrument as needed . Upon completion of the instruction program they receive a free guitar with all accessories from Guitars For Vets. Graduates are invited to participate in ongoing group lessons and workshops.
