The Animal Pad dog rescue is looking to add to our Home Check team! Specifically, we are searching for virtual Home Checkers for the Foster team. Home checks are CRUCIAL in ensuring that we always send a foster (or adopted) pup to a safe, stable environment, and into a loving home. This entails the Home Check volunteer coordinating with our team and the potential foster, and scheduling a virtual meeting via Zoom or FaceTime according to the Home Checker and applicant's schedules. The applicant will give a tour of both inside and outside areas of their home to ensure the safety of incoming TAP foster dogs and address any concerns that may be seen [ie. electrical cords on the ground or underneath desk areas, gaps/holes in outdoor fencing or gate areas, if they have a pool, if they have cats (unfortunately not all of our pups enjoy their feline companion's company), etc.] A home check only happens when we have a new foster who has not worked with us before (or when someone wants to adopt one of our pups). Each home check only takes about 10 minutes per screening!

Mission Statement
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue based in San Diego, CA that focuses on saving dogs from the streets of Mexico and high kill shelters. We get them the vet care they need, place them in foster homes and then find them loving forever families. Our mission is to form a safe space for dogs experiencing crisis and neglect, and to build a community of compassion through education, rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. Our community of volunteers and fosters strives to ensure that all dogs get a fighting chance, and believes that no case is too extreme to be helped - meaning our rescue is full of perfectly imperfect dogs who can’t wait to meet you! Being operated solely by volunteers and funded entirely by donations, none of what we do could be possible without our dedicated team!

Here at TAP, we give voice to the voiceless and our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find them the best homes possible. Founded in 2010, The Animal Pad is volunteer run and funded entirely by donations. We rescue dogs primarily off the streets of Mexico, and provide them full medical care and a loving foster home to heal in before they head to their adoptive home.
