- To the best of your ability, you will help students in grades K-12 to feel more confident in being able to work on, and complete, their school assignments.
- Children come to the Community Center for academic reasons, but also to have fun and hang out. Part of your duties is to make their After School experience a positive one.
- Assist in Gym and Enrichment activities.
- Work with one student, several students, or in a small group as needed.

Description
The Salvation Army of Sarasota County provides:
- Emergency Financial Assistance - a preemptive step to stop crisis before families and individuals become homeless.
- Pathway of Hope - helping families overcome barriers like unemployment, unstable housing and lack of education.
- Life Recovery Programs - provides individualized, life-saving services to adult men and women who are homeless, addicted to drugs or alcohol, or are incarcerated.
- Quality of Life - proactive housing-focused services, to include an emergency shelter for adults 18 and older.
- Community Centers - youth programs, community fellowship groups, senior programs, summer camps, group worship meetings, and afterschool programs.
- Food Pantries - in Venice and North Port
- A Thrift Store - in Venice

- Mondays through Fridays 2:00-6:00 Two to three days per week (Monday-Friday). You may choose to volunteer on more than 3 days.
- Possess a passion for helping students learn and have the knowledge and skills to help them find new ways to look at difficult skills and concepts. Patience is a must
