ORGANIZATION: Senior Community Services

Buckthorn is an invasive species that is threatening our native plants and natural habitats. The more buckthorn there is the more it spreads! We are looking for volunteers to help us help seniors in our community who are struggling against the buckthorn battle!

Our volunteers help seniors 60+ in Hennepin County stay in their own homes safely and independently for as long as possible (often the most affordable option) by providing assistance with outside chores they are unable to do themselves. Some of our seniors have reported problems with buckthorn in their yards and would love some help! It's a great way to help seniors in the community AND help the environment! Great for scouts, work teams, faith groups, or just grab some friends and lend a hand! Times are flexible, let us know what works for your group!
