The Grant Researcher/Writer Volunteer will support the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Housing Partnership's communications and fund development arm of the organization. This volunteer

Responsibilities for this detail-orientated, knowledgeableself-starter includes researching, evaluating and recommending grant opportunities that are in alignment with the mission of the organization. Other duties include assisting with donor management and cultivation, as well as being a part of fundraising events taking place in 2019. This position reports to the Vice President of Communications and Fund Development.

Qualifications:

* Ability to take initiative, employ good judgment and manage projects from beginning to end.

* Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills (AP Style).

* Exceptional ability to interpret complex written material, problem solve and manage details.

* Must have strong project management and multitasking abilities.

* Ability to prioritize assignments, meet deadlines and anticipate next steps or needs.

* Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

* Individual with degree and/or working experience in the business administration, public administration, finance, public policy or one of the social science fields.

This is a non-paid opportunity. College credit and community hours available. This opportunity will allow you to help an organization in need, while increasing your grant writing and research experience with real, hands-on work. Parking is free.
