Volunteer to check email and spreadsheet every couple of hours for orders.

Assign orders via text to order fulfilment volunteer and log the order on a spreadsheet.

Also, answer the phone and respond to email questions. Calls are either to donate equipment or to request equipment. There are about 9 to 11calls a day. These calls can be taken anywhere quiet. The Assist ME number would be forwarded to your phone during working hours on days you work. The Assist ME phone is a Google number and calls coming from that number will identified to you.

The customer service volunteer can choose the day of the week.

  • 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM
    The activity does not take the whole time. The Receptionist just needs to check email/spreadsheet for orders and handle phone calls.

Our mission is to acquire and provide mobility related rehabilitative equipment to individuals in need to help them regain lost mobility and maximize their independence and quality of life. Our goal is to establish Assist M.E. as the go-to organization for advocacy on behalf of and providing assistance to individuals with mobility disabilities in the Charlotte/Mecklenburg community.

Description

Assist ME takes in gently used medical equipment, such as standard manual wheelchairs, bedside commodes, tub transfer benches, shower chairs, etc. ), clean them up and gift them to low income, uninsured patients. When patients have this type of equipment, they fall less often and are readmitted to hospitals less often.
