The Salvation Army’s (TSA) Connection Center (CC) is a call center designed to give people in need immediate access to TSA programs, services and information. The CC fields calls from our community members throughout the Intermountain Division seeking resources to overcome hunger, homelessness, addiction or poverty. The CC has trained case managers available to provide triage assessment, initial intakes, appointments and "front-door" access to all our programs. Anyone who reaches out to the CC can literally be connected to our services and receive an appointment to meet with a caseworker in person. In instances where TSA cannot provide direct service, the team of resource navigators can refer the community member to another agency by accessing our internal, google-based database.
The Connection Center Team Member (1) answers calls for information regarding The Salvation Army’s assistance programs and other community resources, (2) documents calls accurately utilizing a computerized database, (3) uses provided scripts for relaying information about services, (4) schedules appointments and (5) uses active and compassionate communication skills.
This is a challenging and rewarding volunteer experience!
