The Public Relations/Internal Communications Volunteer will support the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Housing Partnership's content strategy across the entire organization.

Responsibilities for this energetic, self-starter includes writing content for the internal and external newsletters; as well as the website. We encourage creativity and taking a "newsroom" approach to have success in the role. Skills in photography and graphic design a plus, but not required. Additional duties include assisting with the organization's social media communications channels, as needed. This position reports to the Vice President of Communications and Fund Development.

Qualifications:
* Ability to take initiative, employ good judgment and manage projects from beginning to end.
* Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills (AP Style).
* Exceptional ability to manage details.
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to meet deadlines and to anticipate next steps or needs.
* Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Be available minimum of 16 hours a week .
* Individual with degree and/or working experience in the public relations, communications, liberal arts, journalism fields.
* Knowledge of email marketing applications and the use of emerging platforms, digital media and web/social media management tools, a plus.

This is a non-paid opportunity. Opportunity for college credit, community hours considered. This opportunity will allow you to increase your public relations experience with real, hands-on work. Parking is free.
