The Animal Pad

Enter TAPACT - our new activism wing of TAP! We are looking for activist-minded people who are super passionate about using their voices to make a difference for dogs! We are working to build a team who will help us develop this new venture. We need people on the admin side as well to help organize and further develop TAPACT.

  • Research Team: The research team will collect research on what other groups have tried (ie. what worked and what did not). These volunteers will gather statistics on puppy mills and other abuse across the border.
  • Outreach Team: The outreach team's job is to generate interest within our community about TAPACT, and to set up partnerships with other rescues/vets/activists/ shelters, etc.
  • Solutions Team: The solutions team will be the driving force in implementing ideas from the research and outreach teams. These volunteers will also contact local media, and table or hand out brochures whenever possible.
  • Creative Team: The creative team will create brochures/posters/billboards, help create social media posts, edit photos/videos, and add to the TAP website.

About The Animal Pad

Mission Statement

The Animal Pad is a non profit, all breed dog rescue based in San Diego, California. Our ultimate goal is to build, operate and maintain a no-kill animal sanctuary. This would be the model to expand into other cities, and help others who would like to create similar sanctuaries. Our current focus is rescuing dogs from the streets of Mexico . We get them the vet care they need, find foster homes, rehab and facilitate adoptions into loving homes.

Here at TAP, we give voice to the voiceless and our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find them the best homes possible.

The Animal Pad was founded in 2010 and we are 100% Volunteer Run and Donation Based. We rescue dogs primarily off the streets of Mexico. In addition to rescuing, we have an activism arm called TAPACT where we bring the Community together to tackle issues that affect dogs in hopes to evoke permanent change. Here at TAP, we give voice to the voiceless and our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find them the best homes possible.
