ReClaim It!

ReClaim It! is a unique non-profit resale store that gleans nearly everything we sell from the Metro Transfer Station. We are reducing the waste stream, while sourcing a one of a kind volunteer run store with many unique items. We sell to local artists, neighbors and the general public to inspire reuse, repair, and reimagination. Reclaim it! is located at 1 N. Killingsworth (at Williams, not too far from PCC- Cascade campus). Our team of wonderful people give of their time cleaning and fixing items, setting up in-shop displays, creating DIY demo items, and being a friendly face helping customers at our re-sale store.

You can sign up for flexible volunteer shifts to help out when the store is open on Weds-Sun between 1pm -6:00 pm. We also have work parties when we get new items on Mondays 10:00 am-2:00 pm or by special arrangement.

The first step to get started is to schedule an in-person tour and orientation. Folks usually come in for at least an hour to get oriented and to try out working with us. See ww.reclaimitpdx.org for more details.

About Cracked Pots Inc.

Location:

1 N. Killingsworth St, Portland, OR 97217, US

Mission Statement

We use creativity to encourage our community to look at trash in a new way. We promote art to encourage waste reduction and creative reuse. Reuse is at the heart of all we do.

Description

Crackedpots is a local non-profit supporting waste reduction through creative reuse. In the past, we have hosted community events and art shows featuring artists using sustainable methods and cast-away materials. Today, you can find our unique wares at our retail storefront, ReClaim It, where we rescue items from the city dump, the community, and our neighbors to encourage inspired reimagining of slightly worn and unwanted items. Currently, we offer a Repair Training Program where volunteers learn the handy, fix-it skills needed to make a worn item useful again. Another unique program is our GLEAN Artist Residency where local artists rescue items from the city's transfer station to create gallery-worthy art. If sustainability is important to you and you've been wanting a new, creative way to help clean this earth, come join us in upcycling on your free time!
