ReClaim It! is Cracked Pots' unique resale store dedicated to curbing waste. Everything in our shop is gleaned from the Metro Central Transfer Station. That's right, the dump! We sell these salvaged materials in an effort to educate the public about the enormity of the wastestream and inspire reuse, repair, and reimagination in our community.

We have a wonderful team of volunteers who do everything from staffing the shop to cleaning newly rescued items, to yes, even going to the Metro Waste Transfer Station to glean treasures!

A few of the activites we're seeking volunteers to help with are:

  • Brainstorming project ideas with customers

  • Cashiering (Possible after 10 hours of in-shop volunteering and staff approval)

  • Cleaning newly gleaned items

  • Creating engaging in-shop displays

  • Gleaning items from the waste transfer station (Possible after 20 hours of in-shop volunteering, staff approval, one in-shop training, and one on-site training)

  • Making price tags and in-shop signage

  • Participating in social media outreach

  • Repairing found items

we're always very interested in any other skills volunteers may be willing to bring to the table. We're always learning and growing and are so thankful for all of our talented volunteers.

About Cracked Pots Inc.

Mission Statement

We use creativity to encourage our community to look at trash in a new way. We promote art to encourage waste reduction and creative reuse. Reuse is at the heart of all we do.

Crackedpots is a local non-profit supporting waste reduction through creative reuse. In the past, we have hosted community events and art shows featuring artists using sustainable methods and cast-away materials. Today, you can find our unique wares at our retail storefront, ReClaim It, where we rescue items from the city dump, the community, and our neighbors to encourage inspired reimagining of slightly worn and unwanted items. Currently, we offer a Repair Training Program where volunteers learn the handy, fix-it skills needed to make a worn item useful again. Another unique program is our GLEAN Artist Residency where local artists rescue items from the city's transfer station to create gallery-worthy art. If sustainability is important to you and you've been wanting a new, creative way to help clean this earth, come join us in upcycling on your free time!
