During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of both COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
We are actively seeking volunteers to join us in our mission of educating the community about local food and the state's proud agriculture heritage. Currently, we have two opportunities to become involved as a Nutrition Volunteer with UFCU at the 2020 Downtown Farmers Market: Market Kids Club Volunteer will assist in the execution of our nutrition education programming with a group of young children; A Food Access Volunteer will assist in the distribution and support of the Double Up Food Bucks, SNAP, and ProduceRx programs operated at the Market.
Shifts vary per volunteer descriptions but are from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm, 8:30 to 1:30 pm and 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.
If you are interested in volunteering at the market please sign up via the link below and we will contact you right away!

Urban Food Connections of Utah (UFCU) educates the community about local food, regional food producers and the state's proud agricultural heritage. Through a series of programs and events, we help communities incorporate more local and whole foods into their daily diets and provide resources to regional farmers and food producers. These efforts bolster support for sustainable farming practices and increase year-round availability of locally and sustainably-produced food. We strive to build a passionate community around local food and to create dynamic community gathering places, social interaction and sense of place while connecting urban dwellers and consumers with local farmers and food. We support alternative outlets for consumers of all income levels to buy nutritious foods in an atmosphere conducive to the exchange of information and ideas between producers and consumers. Through these efforts UFCU educates the community about our region's bounty and those who labor to produce it.
Over the last 28 years (and counting!), the Downtown Farmers Market has operated the largest farmers market in the West, home to over 200 local farmers and food purveyors accompanied by 150 artisan and creative vendors, and engaging over 200,000 weekly community members.
We'll work with your schedule.
