Buddies support, protect, and encourage a special needs player who they are assigned to. We host two games every Sunday and Buddies are only assigned to one. The first game starts at 1:30 pm with an arrival time of 1:00 pm and this game is for under 18 players (buddies of any age can help). To bring together special needs youth, adults, their families, helpers, and friends to play the glorious game of baseball. We provide an opportunity for all youth and adults with special needs to grow new friendships; to grow self-esteem, and to grow the joy of helping others. Volunteers are essential as "Buddies" to help keep our players safe, encouraged, and overall supported.
Description
The Miracle League of SF is in the middle of its second season. There are about 300 various Miracle League divisions across the country. The Miracle League has the goal of providing individuals with special needs the opportunity to play a sport and be a part of a team. We eventually hope to build a complete special needs accessible baseball field.
