The PCSO Social Media and Communications Intern will facilitate the creation of social media content and management of social media accounts for PCSO and the Lexington Pride Festival, assist with editing and layout of PCSO’s monthly magazine, LinQ, and engage with diverse populations to create a sustainable communications strategy. They will work with current PCSO staff and volunteers.
PCSO is committed to creating inclusive spaces where diverse voices are valued. LGBTQ+ people, particularly members of the gender expansive community, and people of color are encouraged to apply. The Pride Center is fully wheelchair accessible. Please contact us for specific accommodations.

Mission Statement
Lexington Pride Center works to create safe, inclusive spaces where every LGBTQ+ Kentuckian is celebrated and supported. LexPrideCenter works to improve people's lives in the sexual minority and gender-expansive community of Central and Eastern Kentucky by enhancing visibility, empowering community members, and educating the public about issues impacting the said community.
Description
Our objectives are:
- Educate:
The Lexington Pride Center offers community resources, a monthly magazine, social media, and a LGBTQ+ library
- Enhance:
The Lexington Pride Center organizes, participates, and collaborates in distinct visibility activities, such as Lexington's annual Pride Festival
- Empower:
The Lexington Pride Center spear-heads vital programming such as the Gay-Straight Alliance for Youth, discussion groups, and a safe environment at the Pride Center
