Jill's House Weekend Adventures is an exciting weekend away at camp for kids (ages 6-17) with intellectual disabilities. As a volunteer, you are assigned a "buddy" for an entire weekend of fun activities! These activities are specifically tailored and adapted to fit the needs of our campers such as ropes courses, hayrides, pet therapy, hiking, and of course, s'mores! Trained staff are present to care for the medical, behavioral, and daily living needs of your buddy. This allows you and your team to focus on engaging and having fun with the campers! All while you are creating wonderful memories with your buddy, their families are given one of the greatest gifts, rest. A weekend where they get to wake up at 7 am, or spend time with their other children, maybe even go on a date night with their spouse. By volunteering your time, you are giving the gift of time and rest to parents in need. We gladly welcome groups or individuals, ages 16 and older, training is provided. So whether you have tons of experience or have never had the joy of working with someone with a disability, you are welcome! Our staff is there alongside you throughout the entire weekend. All you need is the willingness to serve and show Christ's love to these wonderful children of God!

Weekend Adventures are fun and exciting camping weekends for children (ages 6-17) with intellectual disabilities. Jill’s House nurses and staff tailor all of the exciting weekend activities to the interests and abilities of each camper to provide an engaging and safe camping experience they can’t get anywhere else! And local churches, schools, or social clubs supply volunteers to act as "buddies" to the campers to help them get the most out of all their weekend. Meanwhile, the campers’ families receive a weekend of respite to recharge, knowing their kids are in good hands.
Every aspect of the weekend is designed to provide the best camper experience possible. Dietary restrictions are accounted for, professional nurses are always on site, and all staff and volunteers are thoroughly trained and excited to spend time with these special kids.
