ORGANIZATION: Allies for Every Child

At Allies for Every Child, we provide thousands of at-risk children and their families with critical, high-quality early education programs, family strengthening interventions for families at risk of abusing or neglecting their children, foster care and adoption services, and a range of vital, integrated services, such as disabilities screenings/advocacy, nutrition, parenting classes, counseling, bilingual domestic violence classes, dental and vision screenings, and pediatric health consultations. Our highly-trained and dedicated child development and child welfare experts ensure that each child receives the tailored supports that she and her family need to be prepared for success in school and beyond.

Volunteer Role Description:
We are looking for skilled gardening volunteers who can come to our Early Care Center on a weekly/bi-monthly basis to assist with the cultivation and maintenance of our organic garden. He/She/They may also lead group gardening activities under the supervision of a Westside Children's Center staff member. The perfect individual for this volunteer role is someone with at least a basic level of gardening experience and knowledge, and a passion for community service. A volunteer schedule will be determined by the volunteer's availability.

Allies supports under-served, vulnerable children and their families in southwest Los Angeles County by providing a full range of crucial, multidisciplinary services, including child development (early care and education and special needs) and child welfare (foster care and adoption, family support, family preservation, infant and family mental health, health consultation and referrals).
