Visit with a Russian-speaking man, originally from Odessa, who lives in the Polk Gulch neighborhood of San Francisco. The gentleman is in his early 90s and sharp as a tack. He would appreciate a weekly visitor to practice English with, and chat on topics of mutual interest. He would also be delighted to help you practice Russian if you would like. He is available to meet at his home on weekdays - late afternoons/evenings. Weekends, particularly Sundays, are also an option.

Description
Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS) of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties is the oldest social service agency west of the Mississippi. Since its inception, JFCS has provided people with the encouragement and tools they need to become productive, self-reliant members of society. With over 40 programs that address a wide range of service needs, JFCS empowers people of all ages, faiths and ethnic backgrounds, to live productive and healthy lives by providing a hand-up, not a handout. To accomplish its goals, JFCS relies on its professional staff and on thousands of acts of lovingkindness performed by its more than 2,000 dedicated volunteers who give of themselves to create a more caring community.
