Our Annual Community Gathering is sure to be a fun event where attendees will have an opportunity to connect with one another and some of the businesses within the community, as well as receive a health consultation. The event will include activities, back-to-school giveaways, a silent auction, music, a custom car show and more. We expect 350-400 residents to attend.
We are seeking assistance with planning the event, securing sponsors, vendors, and donations; marketing the event and volunteers to provide assistance at the event.

Description
MECCA Development Corporation is a non-profit organization working to bring residents from three Detroit neighborhoods together through resident engagement. The three communities (south of I-94/Harper and east of Alter Rd. in Detroit) are coming together to create a global vision for the far eastside of Detroit. Since 2016 we have worked to engage residents to understand how to best serve the needs of the community.
As such, we currently offer a skilled trades program - upholstery workshop - and two weekly senior programs - computer classes and hustle/exercise class. Our 2019 goals are to implement a community engagement model, create a newsletter, expand our skilled trades programming, and purchase and rehab our first residential property.
