World Bicycle Relief is a nonprofit organization that mobilizes people through The Power of Bicycles. We are committed to helping people conquer the challenge of distance, achieve independence and thrive.
Our annual bike ride - Ride for World Bicycle Relief - Mt. Tam - is coming up in Mill Valley, CA on May 5 and we are looking for eight volunteers to help us execute the event in various roles.
Sunday, May 5
- Event: Ride for World Bicycle Relief - Mt. Tam
- Location: Mill Valley Lumber Yard - 129 Miller Ave.
- Time: 7am - 1pm (or at the conclusion of the event)
- We are looking for volunteers to ideally help for the full duration of the event. If you aren’t available for the full time, that is ok but at minimum we hope for a 3 hour commitment from all volunteers.
- Volunteer Duties: Event set up, attendee check in / registration, parking assistance (provide directions), driver for photographer (requires your own car), event tear down and more!

Founded in 2005, World Bicycle Relief mobilizes people through The Power of Bicycles(r). World Bicycle Relief accomplishes its mission by distributing specially designed, high-quality bicycles through philanthropic and social enterprise programs. These purpose designed bicycles are built to withstand the challenging terrain and conditions in rural, developing areas. Entrepreneurs use the bicycles to increase productivity and profits. Students attend class more regularly and improve their academic performances. And, health care workers visit more patients in less time, providing better, more consistent care. World Bicycle Relief also promotes local economies and long-term sustainability by assembling bicycles locally and training field mechanics to service the bicycles. To date, World Bicycle Relief has delivered over 360,000 bicycles and trained over 1,700 field mechanics in Africa, Southeast Asia and South America. World Bicycle Relief is a registered nonprofit in the USA, Canada, U.K., Germany and Australia, and has assembly facilities in Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Angola.
