Special Olympics Nevada is looking for assistant coaches for their Las Vegas swimming program. Athletes train 1 day per week for 2 hours on Saturdays from Macrh 16 to May 25.

You do not need to have coaching experience or specific training to work with individuals with intellectual disabilities. All volunteer must complete 3 steps:

  • Volunteer application
  • Background check (if over 18)
  • Online general orientation and protective behaviors

Special Olympics Nevada offers free sports training and competition opportunities every day, throughout the year in fourteen different sports. Paid staff operate in one office and oversee 12 local area programs that are run by volunteers. Special Olympics Nevada's office is based in Las Vegas.

Description

Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people eight years of age and older with intellectual disabilities. Our programs give our athletes continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other athletes and the community.
