Child Care Volunteer
As the Crisis Center supports adult survivors, we also support our survivor families. Childcare Services volunteers provide weekly scheduled and on-call support for clients who are receiving services with us.
Primary Functions of the Childcare Services Volunteer
- Child Services Volunteers are needed for children while their parent is in individual or group therapy sessions, or as needed for clients who have court appearances or other responsibilities that might not be suitable for their children to attend.
- Interact with children of all ages
- Provide structured playtime for all children that are age specific and appropriate, including arts and crafts, reading, and games
- Assist staff in facilitating group activities with children
Oftentimes, children receiving care at the Crisis Center have experienced traumatic events. Training will be provided by Crisis Center staff before any child supervision takes place. We want to ensure that all children have a safe and understanding place to just be a kid.
