About Walking Bear Artists

Location:

21535 Dortort Drive, Reno, NV 89521, US

Mission Statement

Walking Bear Artists serves as a conduit for artists from The First People and Military Veterans with the goal of placing their art in fine art galleries and shows. In doing so, we will help improve the quality of life for these artists by the profits from the sales of their works. The ultimate goal is to train and assist the artists to the point of success where they Will Not Need Us Anymore.

Description

We are an organization that helps Native Americans and Veterans get their art into fine art galleries and fine art shows.

As a group, we were accepted to be exhibitors at Art San Diego and the upcoming ArtEXPO New York in April of 2019. We are working on achieving 501(c)(3) status and art exhibition proposals for Arrowcreek Clubhouse as well as Montreux Club House here in South Reno. We have also stated the conversation with Bayer Properties in regard to opening an art gallery at the Summit Mall here in South Reno.

We are currently looking for First People and Veteran artists as we plan to have 50 artists in our group by the middle of next year.

The kind of help we need immediately is someone skilled in building websites in WordPress. We can also use help in writing End of the Year Appeals and grant applications to the George W. Bush Foundation, The Gary Sinise Foundation, The Entrepreneurial Altruism Foundation, and others as we discover them. We also need someone who knows Wild Apricot Nonprofit CRM, fundraising, and Membership Management and Patreon software.

We have some really outstanding opportunities in front of us and we need help to make the best of them.

Our priorities are:

1. Website online
2. Fundraising
3. Foundation Management

With the right amount of success, these could all be paying positions by next year.
