Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) Northwest is a service year program that responds to local community needs throughout the Northwest. Jesuit Volunteers/AmeriCorps members* serve those on the margins full- time, directly engaged in issues of poverty and injustice as: - Social Workers - Community Organizers - Community Health Workers - Tutors - Nurses - Legal Aids - Homeless and Housing specialists and more, all while living simply, growing in justice, and exploring spirituality in the context of an intentional community. Our program runs from August through June or July. Living expenses plus a $100 monthly stipend and health insurance are provided. JV AmeriCorps members are also eligible for the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of almost $6,000. *Jesuit Volunteer/AmeriCorps members is a general term for both JV AmeriCorps members and non-AmeriCorps JVs. Description

Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) Northwest engages individuals in a transforming experience of full-time volunteer service. Jesuit Volunteer (JV)/AmeriCorps members* serve for a year or more in solidarity with people living on the margins of society and with fragile ecosystems in the Northwest. Throughout the year, volunteers explore the values of simple living, community, spirituality/reflection, and social and ecological justice. *Please note: "JV/AmeriCorps member" is a general term referring to all Jesuit Volunteers, both JV AmeriCorps members and non-AmeriCorps JVs.
