Volunteer Position Description

Position Name: Tool Training Center Aide

Location: Atlanta Community ToolBank Warehouse, 410 Englewood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30315

Length of Term: 3 months, followed by performance based review for an additional term

Time Commitment: Three, 1-2 hour shifts weekly (On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, between the hours of 9am-12pm 8:00am-5:00pm)

Reports to: CJ Clark, Facility Manager and Tool Training Center Manager

Purpose of Position:

To ensure readiness and preparedness for our Summer Youth Programming through setting up and organizing tools and supplies for our trainings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up work stations
  • Ensure correct tools and supplies are available at each work bench
  • Dispose of any debris or garbage leftover from previous trainings.
  • Assemble project kits as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Willing to get dirty

Miscellaneous

  • Must understand and commit to the Atlanta Community ToolBank Mission, Vision and Value Statements
  • Instruction and guidance will be available as needed
  • Closed toe shoes & clothes that can get dirty are required

The Atlanta Community ToolBank Tool Lending Program shares its resources with charitable groups so they can equip volunteers to efficiently complete work in less time with the right tools at a minimal cost. The Atlanta Community ToolBank is also home to our Tool Training Center. The Tool Training Center is a collaborative educational center focused on bridging critical gaps in the areas of tool use, repair and safety; workforce development; young adult introduction to tools and trades; disaster preparedness; and facility management.
