The Cat Network has been rescuing cats in the St. Louis area since the early 1990's. We have adoption events in several locations around St. Louis. The events that we have in the Ellisville area are in need of some set up and tear down help for the events.
We are looking for people who would be available to help us setup and take down adoption day "stuff" on Saturdays. We typically have adoption days at Petco on the FIRST SATURDAY of the month, from 11am - 2pm. Volunteers could help get the cats in their cages (or out, at the end), but staying for the entire event is not necessary.
Volunteers who would want to help set up would need to arrive at 10:30am (event starts at 11:00am).
Volunteers who would want to help tear down would need to arrive at 1:30pm (event ends at 2:00pm).
Time needed MAY be up to an hour (max).
There is nothing overly heavy -- this would be setting up the table(s) and small cages for the cats, and putting in small litterboxes in the cages and mats/blankets for them to lay on.
Tearing down would be dumping the small litter boxes, collapsing the cages and table(s) and storing them away.
For Petco, everything is stored in the back room and brought out in a cart -- and cleaning supplies are put back under the storage beneath the habitat.
If you are in school and need a signature for volunteer/service hours, we are happy to provide this!
Please consider helping us get cats & kittens adopted out, by providing this valuable service of "arms" to help!

Mission Statement
The Cat Network is an all volunteer, no-kill, cat rescue organization in the greater St. Louis area. We are a non-profit, 501-c-3 organization. We do not have a shelter, so we care for our foster cats in our homes. We are currently caring for over 100 permanent foster cats. We accept (rescue) cats or kittens who we can hopefully re-home. Generally we prefer to rescue cats/kittens from local animal control shelters, but will occasionally accept owner turn-ins.
Description
After rescue, our cats/kittens are quarantined for at least 14 days to assure that they are disease free. This also gives us time to provide the necessary vet care. All newly rescued cats/kittens are taken to one of our affiliated vet offices for a complete check-up. They will be given age-appropriate vaccinations, a microchip, and will be combo tested for feline leukemia/feline aids. If old enough, the cat/kitten will be altered. Our cats/kittens are also treated for intestinal and external parasites.
All of our cats/kittens live in caring foster homes. Our 'adoptable' foster cats/kittens participate in regularly scheduled adoption events at local PetSmart and Petco stores.
