Culikid runs monthly cooking classes for neurodiverse children, ages 5-13, at various partner restaurant locations. Volunteers work one-on-one with a child to provide individualized support during cooking while fostering independence. Volunteers also help facilitate connections between participants so they can build relationships while having fun.

Mission Statement

Culikid’s mission is to help children, adolescents, and adults with special needs strengthen their social, independent living, and motor skills through culinary experiences. We use cooking as an opportunity for individuals with special needs to increase independence, build relationships, put basic academic skills to use in a functional way, and learn how to eat healthier.

Description

Culikid runs monthly culinary-sensory events that provide children with a fully curated and supervised day with a chef and social worker in a secure and comfortable environment, emphasizing healthy and nutritious cooking. Children are submerged into a world of taste, touch and feel that allows for both fun and growth to take place.
