- Full-Time Service Position (Flexible Schedule; hours can be adjusted)
- Temporary Position: Starting now (1-year term) (possibility for additional years)
- $12,300 per year Modest Living Allowance (about $950/month after taxes)
- PLUS: $6,000 Education Award after one year of service! (or cash stipend of $1,800)
Help Medicaid help Kansans! Provide Structure and sustainability to a volunteer program that aims to help Kansans utilize KanCare Healthcare to the utmost.
AmeriCorps VISTA members are passionate and committed to their mission to bring individuals and communities out of poverty. Members make a year-long, full-time commitment to serve on a specific project at a nonprofit organization or agency. Members earn a modest living allowance of $12,300, limited benefit options and after a year of service are eligible for an Education Award of $6,000 or Post-Service Stipend of $1,800.

-Develop materials to recruit volunteers
-Assist with recruitment and retention of volunteers.
-Develop educational resources for volunteers.
-Develop and maintain new tools for volunteers to access online.
-Conduct quarterly goal reviews with volunteers.
-Provide support and training for volunteers.
-Answer volunteer questions and participate in volunteer calls as needed.
-Coordinate with public organizations to identify deliverable trainings and resources
-Deliver materials to promote KanCare program.
-Attend resource fairs and other functions.
-Work as team member with other KanCare Ombudsman staff.

After a year of service, VISTAs receive a Segal Education Award valued at $5,775 to be used for student loan payments or tuition costs OR an End-of Year Cash Stipend valued at $1,800
-An independent, self-motivated, creative and resourceful individual with a commitment to our mission.
-Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (i.e. comfortable providing feedback)
-Comfortable with computers; Windows Office Suite and database programs.
-Experience in the following: recruitment, social services, public health
-Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and personal vehicle
