Greetings!

Companion Hospice is looking for compassionate and dedicated volunteers who can assist us with our healing arts program. These volunteers will be responsible for spending time with our patients and guiding them through healing art projects. These volunteers will assist staff and patients with additional activities as well. Volunteers will meet on a monthly basis to discuss patient progress and to brainstorm new ideas for the program. This program will be ideal for anyone studying art therapy, music therapy, social work, gerontology, etc. Although anyone with any skill level is welcome to be a volunteer.

Requirements:
-Must be at least 21 years of age
-Must have reliable transportation
-Must have some experience/involvement with the senior community
-Must be committed and responsible working independently

Hospice Volunteer Training is a program where we select qualified persons who can fit well with patients who have a terminal illness through several organizations. We match volunteers to Hospices where they will excel the most. We offer training and orientation, continued education for all volunteers, certificates of completion and excellence. Whether volunteers are students trying to gain experience or if you just want to give back to the community. We hope that we find individuals who can successfully achieve their goals and provide helpful assistance to Hospice organizations within the Los Angeles County.

Description

Hospice volunteers provide companionship to people living with a serious illness and help their families caregivers in a variety of ways. Hospice also rely on volunteers to help with office work, fund raising, community outreach and other operational areas.
