VOLUNTEER AT DC'S MOST EQUITABLE CSA PROGRAM! Support local farms, expand access to FRESH healthy food for food insecure families, and spend some time outside with some neighbors!
Community Foodworks operates a "Pop Up Food Hub" from the Columbia Heights farmers market. Through this food hub, we offer a weekly "Market Share" CSA as well as food access programs such as a SNAP (Food Stamps) CSA and a home-delivery CSA for Seniors with limited mobility. These programs help to create access to healthy, local foods to those in the community who might not otherwise have that access.
The Community Foodworks Pop Up Food Hub seeks volunteers to assist with the CSA operations at the farmers market in Columbia Heights. Volunteers will be helping to pack produce into individual market shares and distributing the shares to community members. Through their work, volunteers will be helping to address food access in our community and providing healthy, locally grown fruits and vegetables to dozens of families.
