We are seeking a female volunteer to mentor a 17-year-old youth from El Salvador in our refugee foster care program. Her case manager shared, "This youth is in the 10 th grade and she attends school regularly. She reports that school is difficult, but she is improving as her English improves. She attends weekly clinical therapy and she engages well in her therapy sessions. The youth continues to adjust to her foster home placement in Kentwood. Recently, she has been spending time with friends who have a negative influence on her and was breaking the rules of the foster home. She does have a biological sister in the refugee foster care program as well, and they have a strong connection. This youth would prefer a Spanish-speaking mentor if possible.
