Intern at one of Santa Barbara's most fun camps! Natural Aritsts is a week long summer camp for children ages 5 to 12.
Campers will explore nature and make art projects in this fun-filled week at Arroyo Burro Beach and Art From Scrap. Campers will observe Nature, bird and animal watch, and incorporate natural patterns and colors into their art. Projects include t-shirt dyeing with indigo, nature weaving, creating colorful pigments out of plants, and beach-inspired sculpture.
NATURAL ARTISTS Camp 1: Leaves, Stems, and Petals. Campers will discover the creative opportunities to be found in the natural world.
NATURAL ARTISTS Camp 2: Natural Patterns. Campers will explore patterns found in Nature and use them in artwork.
We need interns for one or both sessions.
Regular day: 9:00am - 3:00pm
Counselor-in-Training program available for students ages 13 to 17 - please email for details.
Compensation: This is a non-paid, volunteer internship. College credit may be available, check with your college advisor. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to go into teaching or environmental education of any kind. Letters of reference will be issued to interns who successfully complete their internship.

Explore Ecology is an environmental education and arts nonprofit located in Santa Barbara, California. We work with over 30,000 children a year, inspiring them to engage with the natural world, think critically, and experience the value of environmental stewardship. Explore Ecology programs include the Art From Scrap Creative ReUse Store and Gallery, Environmental Education, Watershed Resource Center, and School Gardens.
The mission of Explore Ecology is to promote a greater understanding of the connections between people and their environment and to encourage creative thinking through hands-on environmental education and artistic expression.
