Bread for the City (Washington, DC) is looking for male volunteers (especially men of color) to serve with The Strength Series (breadforthecity.org/strength) .

The Strength Series is a new Bread for the City endeavor, launching June 2019. These 2nd Monday sessions --- available at no cost to participants --- offer men (particularly those living with low income and in the process of overcoming challenge) an additional and continuing opportunity to gather in a healthy environment to learn, share, grow, and gain additional skills.

Volunteers are needed for the following roles:

* LEADERSHIP CIRCLE (apply by April 15, 2019) - These volunteers work 6-7 hours per month (for at least six months) toward The Strength Series’ success. The Leadership Circle will help plan activities and report to Bread for the City’s Volunteer & In-Kind Manager. This group will also keep an ear to the ground (to ensure awareness of topics participants would like to learn more about) and represent the "face" of The Strength Series (welcoming participants, introducing speakers, leading small group sessions, and more). Apply today!

* SPEAKER OR WORKSHOP PRESENTER (no deadline) - Do you have meaningful information to share? We’re looking for qualified speakers and workshop presenters who are willing to volunteer and can discuss/ lead conversation on the dynamics of relationships, finance, health, career, mind, creativity, black history, advocacy, and other topics on at least one 2nd Monday. Have you overcome challenge and want to share your inspirational story? We'd like to hear from you as well! Apply today!

Thank you for taking a moment to consider sharing your time and talents to be a support to men living in Washington, DC. If you have questions, please write sspringfield@breadforthecity. org. We look forward to hearing from you!
