Living Classrooms is hiring for an unpaid internship position with our Financial Literacy team!
Ideally the intern is studying Banking, Finance, Economics, Edu cation and/or Human Services, but o ther majors welcomed!
The position is attached to two departments: Workforce and Financial Literacy. Intern must be flexible and must excel with communication and task management .
Duties:
- Manage the reception area
- Photo copy
- Maintain updated flyers
- Answer the phones
- Retrieve messages
- Greet the public
- Maintain information on line
- Make follow up calls
- O ther light clerical duties as assigned.
- Assist and/o r lead the following activities
- Word Search. Read Kids Financial Literacy Books, Colorin g Projects, Hand outs , photos
- Conduct workshops/activities on Banking, Real World Math, Check Writing, Budget, Administer/Discuss Quiz
- Set Up classroom, Clean up classroom
Primary Location :
1100 E. Fayette (Lower Level)
Schedule:
Monday - Friday
8:30 am - 3:30 pm (30 mins Lunch)

Living Classrooms Foundation is a non-profit organization, operated for the benefit of the community at large, providing hands-on education and job skills training for students from diverse backgrounds, with a special emphasis on serving at-risk youth.

The Foundation uses maritime settings, community revitalization projects and other challenging learning environments, and a low staff to student ratio. Our "learning by doing" education programs emphasize the applied learning of math, science, literacy, history, economics, and ecology. Key objectives of all Living Classrooms programs are career development, community service, elevating self-esteem, and fostering multicultural exchange.
