The planning committee is the heart of the operations of The Sheperds Lodge. We meet several times monthly to plan the activities of the organization. We often meet at 7000 Stinson Hartis Rd in Indian Trail, but also meet at restaurants in the general area as well. We are looking for committee members to get involved in planning the events including fundraisers and activities for our program participants. Meetings are usually around lunch time on weekdays. Please contact us for additional information if you are interested in getting involved with our organization.

Mission Statement
The mission at The Sheperd’s Lodge is to create and maintain a land-based community focused on adults with special needs. Inspired by agri-ecotourism, members of the community support one another to contribute to the wider society through bio-dynamic agriculture, handcrafts, and other ecological, social, cultural and educational endeavors. Participants, working side by side, create a dynamic and caring community for people of all ages and varied abilities.
Description
The Sheperd's Lodge primary focus is on helping adults with special needs transition from school activities into the post academic education environment. We aim to nurture participants with the abilities that they have, and work to develop their abilities towards a more independent lifestyle. We have been working with members of the special needs adult community for the past several years and have implemented equine assisted therapy sessions and are working toward purchase of a farm, where we can maintain animals and crops, along with providing educational and therapeutic services for our participants.
